Hello everyone!

First, a belated "happy holidays!" to all and we also wish everyone a great year 2019!

Fell Seal's Music:

Our composer, Jan Morgenstern, has been working on preparing the OST for the game. We're still not there yet, as there's still a few tracks missing, but it's getting there and sounding great. :)

For everyone that selected the OST as a reward, we'll be contacting you as soon as it's fully ready. For everyone else, you can check out this link for more details on the OST and a few free tracks that our musician is offering.

Progress Report:

Our plan is still to release the game at the end of Q1, and that's approaching fast!

We've been incredibly busy, making sure we can can cram as many features and content as we can in the game before release, and it's been panning out for us: we're on schedule and the game is looking better every day.

We recently finished the PS4 and Xbox One ports of the game and our talk with Nintendo isn't finalized, but looks very promising. Although the Switch version will not be coming out at the same time as the PC and other consoles versions.

We also just finalized the localization of the game in Spanish, French, German, Russian and Portuguese and today's Early Access build should have that content in it.

We've been incorporating feedback from the community to make sure the balance of the game is as solid as possible and just recently deployed a full revamp of the AI system, to make it smarter and more moddable. There are a few kinks left to iron out in the new system, but it's looking very good and the fans response has been great so far! We also deployed a big batch of balance updates a few weeks ago and have a lot more of those planned.

We've been adding optional content to the game recently as well and we're on track to have a big optional dungeon and multiple optional battles and events. Our next build should also have the optional story characters events that we've been talking about. Those will show some of the characters' background and motivations in more details.

As usual, here are a few images of what we've been adding to the game recently:

We've been working on the digital manual/artbook for backers with that reward, and it's looking pretty good we think!

Most of what's missing at this point is adding a few more battles, the ending and wrapping up our optional content. That means we'll probably have less and less screenshots to show, as a lot of that is going to fall under the "spoilers" category. But, that's a good problem to have we think.

Once again, a big thank you for the support and we can't wait to cross that finish line with everyone!

Summary

There isn't anything too special to report this month. Everything is proceeding well and we're on schedule. It's looking very good for our planned late Q1 2019 release.

We've gathered a ton of feedback from our Steam Early Access builds and we've been continuously making improvements to the UI, balance and gameplay. The game is really shaping up and we're very excited about how great it's looking!

We've been releasing a new build every week, so if you haven't checked Fell Seal for a while, there's probably new things to see (including a special challenging fight we added for Halloween)!

A big thank you to everyone for the support and feedback!

Progress Report

On the non-art front, we've mostly been working on wrapping up all dialogues and getting ready for the final dialogue cleanup phase. It's going very well, but there's still work to be done. We're hoping to be finished by the end of November with that, and then start the localization process. Fell Seal is a fairly a text-heavy game, so it's going to be a big endeavor!

On the art front, we've been adding a lot of new assets in the past month, mostly visual effects, sound effects and new maps.

Here's two of our new spells, created for the secret special class that was designed by our Legendary Arbiter Kickstarter backer:

And of course we have many new maps, including a new snowy terrain type:

We also decided to add shields visuals to the characters in combat, as well as special accessories to Bzils to show their selected class. Here's how it looks in game:

We also added new unusual skin tones and haircuts, as you can see in the above image.

Still lots of work to be done, so it's back to the grinder for us!

Thanks again!

Early Access Build Reminder

A quick reminder to everyone that the Steam Early Access build has been live for a little bit and all backers who wanted a Steam version of the game should have access to it.

Just punch in the Steam Key you should have gotten by email into Steam and you can start playing the latest build right away.

If you have any feedback, suggestions or comments, we'd love to hear about them! We're hoping to funnel all of the feedback to our Steam forums so it's easier to track and, consequently, implement :)

You can find our Steam forums right there: Fell Seal Steam Forums.

Social Rewards and Backer combatant Names

A while ago, we ran votes for the social rewards accessories and the Bowler Hat and Monocle came out on top. We finished those shortly after our last KS update, so they've been in the game for a bit already. Here's what they look like in game:

There are more color options for both of them too!

It's a little harder to show with pictures, but we added all the monsters and humans names that backers of the Famous Arbiter tier and above provided us for that big content update build we put on Steam. There were definitely some creative ones in there! :)

Progress Report

We don't have any grand announcements like Gamescom this time around. Just solid progress all around. We've put out a big content update in the last month and many smaller updates filled with improvements and additions.

Our Steam page has the precise change logs of everything we added, but a quick summary of the main features:

  • We added an option to control the speed of spell animations and walking speed in combat.
  • We added a massive amount of UI improvements, including clearer and more detailed tooltips, better mouse control, cleaner visuals when targeting, and just a lot of stuff.
  • We added a lot of new spells and new sound effects.
  • Balance updates to many classes and abilities that needed extra love. Our next update is also all about balance, so there'll be a lot of big changes.

Those are but the highlights, there's a lot more! :)

We've been adding some new spells, including some of our biggest created yet, which were created for the class created by our Legendary Arbiter Backer: the Vessel. We're still creating the visuals for most of their spells, but this should give you an idea of what it'll look like:

As usual, we've been working hard on creating new content, so we have a slew of new maps as well, including this one:

We mentioned earlier we added a lot of UI improvements. One of those is showing the gatherables on a Patrol information panel, as well as the amount of treasures the map contains and how many you already got, to help you keep track of it:

Another tactical RPG in the works.

Our friends at Drix Studios have been working for quite some time on their own tactical RPG, called Grand Guilds. It's a story-driven title, with lots of strategy and a card combat system. It's looking quite interesting!

Their Kickstarter campaign is underway right now, and you can support their efforts right hereGrand Guilds - Tactical RPG.

Reminder

Hello everyone!

First, we'd like to remind everyone (in case you missed it!) that we sent Steam Access Keys to any backers that wanted the Steam version of the game. If you haven't gotten yours, check your spam folders and/or let us know so we can send it again!

That Key will grant you immediate access to the Early Access version of the game on Steam.

We'll be super happy to get your feedback on the game too! We're trying to group all feedback and bug reports on one location, so if possible, send it on the Steam Forums, right here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/699170/Fell_Seal_Arbiters_Mark/

And if you can spare the time, a review of the game on Steam would also be great. Those help tremendously!

If you wanted any other version, no worries, your keys will be delivered a little later, but still before the official release!

Progress Report

We just came back from a 2 weeks trip to Germany for Gamescom, so we have a little less progress to report than usual. But, we do have cool pics from Gamescom itself to make up for it.

We were setup in the media booth of our publisher, 1C Publishing, where we met with a lot of members from the press and streamers. It went really well, was a lot of fun and the reception was great!

This is a giant poster of Fell Seal just outside the 1C booth

Now, unto the progress itself: we've mostly been working on a ton of polish updates in preparation for the Early Access launch. Since then, we've been focusing on integrating fixes and feedback from the community, as well as the usual fare of creating a bunch of new assets.

Another interesting project

It's been a while since we've mentioned another interesting project, but this one caught our eye at Gamescom: Dolmen - Stars are bleeding.

The official description is that Dolmen is an action RPG that mixes sci-fi with lovecraftian cosmic horror.

The feeling we had while checking it out at Gamescom was that it feels pretty much like sci-fi Darksouls, which is pretty interesting!

It's already over 80% funded with plenty of time to go, so it's looking very solid!

Give it a look right here!

Steam Early Access and Steam Keys
over 5 years ago – Fri, Aug 17, 2018 at 01:22:14 AM

Early Access On Steam

We've just officially entered Steam Early Access as of a few minutes ago!

The main goal with the Early Access is to get feedback and comments from the community to bring the game quality, balance and polish to the next level over the rest of the development process.

Steam Keys

Any backer that opted for a Steam Key as a reward on Kickstarter should get their Steam Key emailed to them throughout the day (check those spam folders, just in case!) and it should unlock the Early Access version for them. We're a little new to the process, so if anything is acting weirdly, feel free to get in touch with us!

If you selected Xbox One, PS4 or DRM-Free, your key will be sent shortly before the game's release, as we can't support an Early Access on those platforms, sadly.

We're super eager to get everyone's comments and feedback on the game, so we hope you'll give us your support on that front!

We're hoping to centralize all game feedback on our Steam Page, so give it a look :)

Thanks everyone!
